Something Sweet from our Dear Annette


Here at Alcoeur Gardens, we pride ourselves in truly treating our residents like family. We are always learning more and more about who they are everyday. We recently had a lovely conversation with one of our residents Annette who gave us a little look into who she is and shared her incredible cheesecake recipe! Keep reading to see a message from Annette and to get her recipe so you can try it for yourself!

"Hi, my name is Annette and I grew up in Toms River. I belong to St. Joseph's Church. I think that I have the best cheese cake in town. I would like everyone to have this wonderful cake."

Annette's Cheesecake

4 - 3 oz packages of cream cheese

2 - eggs (beaten)

3/4 cup of sugar

1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

12-14 graham crackers

1/4 cup butter (melted)

-Beat cream cheese, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract and lemon juice until totally mixed.

Graham Cracker Crust

-Crush graham crackers.

-Roll them with a rolling pin and combine with melted butter.

-Press into 9 inch pie tin and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Allow to cool completely.

-Pour the cream cheese mixture into the baked crust and bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes.

-Add Sour cream topping

1 cup of sour cream

3 1/2 tablespoons of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

-Bake for another 10 minutes.

Allow to cool completely then refrigerate overnight or for atleast 5 hours.
