This event is to benefit the Alzheimer’s Respite Care program offered by Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey. On Sunday, June 28, the seventh annual motorcycle charity ride that will wind its way through 50 miles of rural scenic areas of southern Monmouth and Ocean counties starting in the Herbertsville section of Brick and ending in Jackson.

Riders and passengers pay a fee to travel a predetermined route and upon arrival enjoy hospitality and camaraderie in the form of refreshments, live music and relaxing with other riders. These entrance fees are the major source of income for this event and all proceeds raised go directly to the Caregivers program after expenses are deducted.

Caregivers, a non-profit organization based in Toms River, offers an Alzheimer’s respite care program which is extremely beneficial to the families of persons suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. These breaks are needed to ensure that other areas of life do not come to a grinding halt; grocery shopping, meeting with the teachers of their children, all the “normal” things needed to keep a family going. The funds needed to provide these volunteers come from donations and grants, which are becoming less and less abundant.
